How We Install Artificial Turf

Proper installation is everything with artificial turf. Done right, your turf will look great and last for 15 to 20 years. Cut corners and you'll have problems with drainage, wrinkles, and edges that lift up. We do it right the first time. Here's our process from start to finish.

We start by removing your existing grass and vegetation. We excavate down about 3 to 4 inches to make room for the base materials. This is important because we need proper depth for drainage and stability. Once we've cleared the area, we grade it carefully to ensure water will drain away from your home and won't pool on the turf surface.

Next comes the base layer. We install crushed stone or decomposed granite and compact it thoroughly. This base needs to be rock solid because it's what supports your turf and allows water to drain through. We take our time with this step because it makes all the difference in how your turf performs over the years.

After the base is ready, we roll out the turf and cut it to fit your space precisely. We pay close attention to the direction of the grass blades so everything looks natural and uniform. Seams are joined with special tape and adhesive so they're virtually invisible. We secure the edges with landscaping staples or nails, then add infill material between the blades to keep them standing upright and provide cushioning.

The final step is grooming and inspection. We brush the turf to work in the infill and make sure everything looks perfect. We check all seams, edges, and drainage. We don't leave until you're completely satisfied with how it looks. Most installations take 1 to 3 days depending on the size and complexity of your project.
